2020 FALL RECREATION SOCCER REGISTRATION IS OPEN

Parents – It is time to register for Fall Recreation Soccer! Based on recently received information from NJ Youth Soccer, the outlook is that youth sports will resume in late June with post COVID guidelines and we anticipate a return to regular soccer this fall. The Township of Denville will also be lifting field closure concurrently with appropriate guidelines to keep participants safe. We understand some of you will be hesitant to register on time because of COVID-19, but in order to order uniforms, put together teams, recruit coaches and assign sponsors we are not able to delay registration any further. We suggest you register on time and if you decide not to play before our start date of September 12, we will give you a full refund.     

HYBRID PROGRAMS 

Challenger Division – This division is for players with special needs up to age 21. Challengers play Saturdays from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Upper Knuth Soccer Field, Cooper Rd. Mentors from our local high schools and middle schools are needed and have made our Challenger Division a big success. There is no charge for the Challenger Division players.     

Munchkins – A non-competitive (no regular games) program for 3.5, 4, and 5 years olds. Munchkins play Tuesdays at 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Articifical Turf Field – Veterans Memorial Park @ Zeek Rd. and Saturdays at 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM, Upper Knuth Soccer Field, Cooper Rd. Note we are limiting this division to 36 players. Register early to ensure your child plays!  

ELIGIBLE GRADES
PreK – PreKs must be 4 years old by September 1 to participate. PreKs have 1 or 2 practices per week and play a game on Saturday mornings. Team assignment, practice, and game schedule TBA late August.

Kindergarten > 6th Grade – 1 or 2 practices per week and play a game on Saturday mornings. Team assignment, practice, and game schedule TBA late August. Players must play in their fall school grade and are not permitted to play up. 

7th, 8th & 9th Grade – These grades play in the Rockaway Valley Soccer League (RVSL). The RVSL is a recreation level travel program where we play Saturday games against other Morris County teams. Team assembly is based on year of birth, not grade, and roster sizes are limited by league rules. We highly recommend you register early to ensure your child gets on a roster for their YOB. We prefer to have non-coed teams, so it is essential that girls interested in playing register by or before the deadline. Once we register our teams in the RVSL we are not able to make changes or add late signups.

YOU NEED TO SELECT YOUR CHILD’S SEPTEMBER 2020 SCHOOL GRADE WHEN YOU REGISTER. IF YOU REGISTER THEM IN THE WRONG SCHOOL GRADE, THERE MAY NOT BE A SPOT FOR THEM IN THEIR CORRECT FALL SCHOOL GRADE.

SCHEDULES & TEAM ASSIGNMENT – Except for the Munchkin and Challenger Division, all other schedules are TBA. Late August is our target to get this to you. As always, if the schedule does not work out for your family, we will give you a full refund.

SPECIAL REQUESTS – There is a section on the registration form to make a special request to play with a friend or coach. If you cannot find this section, email or call us. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL or CALL WITH A SPECIAL REQUEST AFTER YOU REGISTER. We do our best to accommodate requests, but cannot guarantee it. Late registrations are not eligible for Special Requests.  

REGISTRATION DEADLINE & COST- June 30 is the deadline to register. The cost per player is $80 and $120 for 2 or more in the same family. Families experiencing financial hardship can apply before June 30 for a scholarship by calling or emailing HUB Soccer’s president Don Casse 973-627-8173 (doncasse@aol.com). Your request will be handled confidentially. 

LATE REGISTRATION – Late registration is $150 per player/$175 2 or more and contingent on having an opening in your child’s grade. You can save money and ensure your child plays if you preferably register early or by the June 30 deadline. We are not publishing a late registration date deadline to avoid any misunderstandings on the cutoff date to register. You will need to call or email us after the deadline to see if there is an opening. 

COACHES – We always need coaches. Please “X” the coach box when you register your child. If you would like to coach with a friend, please put that in the special request section.

START DATE –  Saturday, September 12 is opening day. Opening day begins at the Gardner Field lower pavilion and includes our main passive fundraising events with team and individual photos. HUB Soccer clothing sales and food and beverage concessions. Start time, photo schedule, etc. are TBA.     

IMPORTANT REMINDERS – PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE THE JUNE 30 DEADLINE, REGISTER IN YOUR CHILD’S UPCOMING SEPTEMBER SCHOOL GRADE & USE SPECIAL REQUESTS WHEN YOU HAVE ONE!
