HUB SOCCER OF DENVILLE, INC. SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCMENT - PRESS RELEASE 1/16/12
HUB Soccer's President Don Casse announced that guidelines and applications for the HUB Soccer boys and girls scholarship are now available at www.hubsoccer.org and the MKHS guidance office. To be eligible for the scholarship the applicant must have played soccer at Morris Knolls for a minimum of 3 years, be a MKHS senior, be on the boys or girls soccer team their senior year and be a Denville resident. They also had to play in HUB Soccer's travel or recreation program prior to high school.
The award is based on class rank, GPA, school, community and employment activities and an essay "How Has Soccer Influenced Your Life". Applications must be submitted by April 15 to be considered.
8 v 8 SOCCER SUMMER LEAGUE OF DENVILLE, INC. SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCMENT- PRESS RELEASE 1/16/12
8 v 8 Soccer President Don Casse announced that guidelines and applications for the 8 v 8 Summer League of Denville, Inc. girls scholarship are now available at www.hubsoccer.org and the MKHS guidance office. HUB Soccer and 8 v 8 Soccer are teaming up again this winter to offer travel players an offensive and defensive skills building clinic.
* Players can attend both sessions for the $60 fee.
* Start date is 1/22 & end date is 2/12.
* Defenders/Midfielders to from 2:15 to 3:15 and Strikers/Goalies from 3:20 to 4:20.
* Location is MKHS main gym
* MKHS girls soccer Coach Z and staff will conduct the clinic.
* Registration deadline is 1/15. Late registration is not available.

LOCATION: MKHS Main Gym
PreK - 12:00 to 12:50 (3 teams. Notification of team assignment and gym section will be after 1/2 via email from your division director)
Kindergarten - 12:00 to 12:50 (1 group/Section 4)
1st Grade - 1:00 to 1:55 (1 group/Section 1)
2nd Grade - 1:00 to 1:55 (1 group/Section 2)
3rd & 4th Grade - 1:00 to 1:55 (1 group/Section 3)
Gym sections start with 1 at main entrance with back part of gym section 4.
All players should bring a ball, wear indoorathletic shoes and shin guards covered by soccer socks
Rules and guidelines for using the MKHS facilities and player safety are pasted below. All participants, parents and coaches are expected to abide by these guidelines.
HUB SOCCER WINTER - INDOOR PROGRAM RULES, SAFETY, & EQUIPMENT
Thank you for participating in HUB’s winter soccer program. Please review the following guidelines and information. This will ensure that your child enjoys the program and we can continue using our schools for various youth sport activities.
BUILDING & PREMISE RULES –
Play the ball below the shoulders. No kicking the ball against walls or in to ceiling.
NJ law prohibits smoking on school grounds. This includes the building, outside area and parking lot.
Players and parents are expected to throw out garbage in appropriate containers.
Players and siblings are expected to remain in the gym during their soccer session. Plan on bringing a water bottle. We don’t want players or children outside of the gym, roaming the halls or hanging out in the bathrooms.
Parents should accompany children to the bath room.
No eating or beverage drinking in the gym.
Balls should be played below the shoulder.
No climbing or playing on the bleachers.
ANY ONE NOT CONFORMING TO THESE RULES WILL BE SUSPENDED FROM HUB SOCCER'S INDOOR SESSION.
EQUIPMENT & SAFETY -
Shin guards covered by soccer socks are required to participate in any scrimmages.
We recommend shorts and t-shirt to stay cool during play and avoid tight fitting clothes that restrict movement.
Athletic shoes or sneakers suitable for playing in a gym (No Soccer Cleats!).
No jewelry (rings, necklaces, earrings, watches, wrist bans, etc) and no hats.
Players with long hair should wear a head band or have hair tied back.
DROP OFF & PICK-UP –
Please escort your child to the gym to make sure the coaches are there. Although the
coaches are expected to be at the gym, last minute emergencies may occur.
Please return promptly at the end of your child’s session and come in to the gym to get your child. DO NOT HAVE THEM WAIT OUTSIDE.
BAD WEATHER, OTHER CANCELLATIONS OR CHANGES - You’ll be called or emailed by one of the coaches or the director if the school is closed or there is a change in time, day or place.
Registration for HUB Soccer’s 2012 recreation player Winter-Indoor is now open.

Locations: Morris Knolls High School main gym
Start Times By Grade: TBA (We play Sunday afternoons starting at 12:00 noon and usually are finished by 4:00 PM). Each grade gets a 1 hour session
(PreKs 45 minutes)
Venue: Clinic (drills/skill building) and scrimmage. Due to a smaller enrollment then the fall we do not have a formal game schedule, but players will be scrimmaging
Eligible Grades: PreK through 4th grade. If we do not have a minimum of 14 players in a grade by December 15, we will not support that grade group. Prompt refunds will be issued. Please register on time so we can support your child’s grad
Cost: $95 per player. Any family experiencing a financial hardship, including the recent flood, can contact HUB Soccer’s president Don Casse at 973-627-8173/doncasse@aol.com to have their child play at no cost. Please make your request before December 15.

All players receive a long sleeve HUB Soccer Winter-Indoor T-shirt.
Saturday November 5th is our annual dinner dance. Included in the $40 per person cost is hors devours, buffet dinner, dessert and alive music. This is a major "passive fund raiser" where you can have an evening of fun and do not have sell anything! This is open to all travel and recreation parents, their friends and family.
MKHS boys soccer coach Mike Mugevero will be hosting a soccer camp on November 10th and 11th and Knuth Field from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Schools will be closed on these days for the NJEA Teacher's Convention.
The Annual Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge will be held on October 8, 2011 from 2:30 - 4:00 on Lower Knuth field. All kids, ages 10-14 are welcome to participate.
